Nippon TV's news programme "news every." visits ASSORT TOKYO

On 19 March 2026, Nippon TV's news programme "news every." aired a report on the surprising places visitors from abroad seek out in Japan. One of them was ASSORT TOKYO, our salon in Aoyama, Tokyo.
A surprising place on the trip
It was the day Tokyo's cherry blossoms officially opened, and visitors from abroad were out to see them. 3,466,700 visitors came to Japan in February 2026, a record for February. The report set out to find where they go — and one of the places it found was a hair salon.
That same day, 19 March, ASSORT TOKYO was almost full of guests from abroad.
Why a hair salon in Japan? Lower prices with the weak yen are part of it, the report said — but there is more to it. Its closing words: the skill Japan is proud of keeps winning over visitors from abroad.
The same report also visited a work-wear shop in Tokyo and a shop for carpenters' tools in Kanagawa — two more places visitors now seek out. The whole report is on Nippon TV's news channel on YouTube, and Nippon TV's news site has it as an article — the links are below. Thank you to everyone at "news every.", and to the guests who took part.
