re-quest/QJ navi interviews our CEO Ken Kobayashi for its series on salons that last

In April 2019, re-quest/QJ navi, a job site and web magazine for hairdressers, carried a two-part interview with our CEO Ken Kobayashi in its series on salons that have kept going since they opened.
The series
'Branding stories of 10-year salons' talks with the owners of hair salons that have lasted for many years since they opened, to find out what keeps a salon going.
The interview
The interview follows Assort from the opening of ASSORT TOKYO in 2011. In the magazine's words, Assort had opened new salons almost every year since then, under the concept 'International Hair Salon', in Japan and around the world, in cities such as New York and Hong Kong.
Part one looks at the early years: the concept 'International Hair Salon', drawn from his roots, and opening salons abroad. Part two looks at how the company changed as it grew — how the team is run, and hiring people who share the company's mission — and at what comes next.
The interview, in Japanese, can be read on re-quest/QJ navi's website; the links are below. It shows Assort as it was in 2019.
