What he wrote
He introduces Assort as a hair salon in Tokyo (Aoyama), Osaka and cities around the world, including New York, London, Hong Kong and Melbourne. At ASSORT TOKYO, he notes, more than 90% of sales come from guests from abroad — so many, even on a weekday afternoon, that walking in can make you forget which country you are in.
One reason for its popularity, he writes, is its own way of cutting. Most guests from abroad show their stylist a photo — of an influencer, a celebrity or a style on social media — and ask for that look. Assort's technique is built around re-creating that photo exactly.
